Mar 18th, 2008 by admin

TrophiesMarch has been quite an eventful month for the students and teachers, both in academics and athletics. The children have been preparing long and hard for their end of term tests, however, as we often say, all work and no play will certainly make jack a dull boy, therefore, preparations has been well underway for the annual primary School Sports Day activities. In athletics, the month commenced with the School’s participation in the Ashley Brooks Road Races where Valley Primary School’s teams shined in the areas of bicycle race and road relay, emerging 2nd in the boys cycle race and 1st in the girls road relay race.

Commonwealth day brought much excitement to the students, as the entire day was a celebratory event. It certainly was a beautiful sight to behold, as the students paraded in their various team colors, ranging from blue house, red house and green house. The sports were certainly entertaining as the red house dominated the entire day. Green house came in a close second with blue emerging third.

On Friday March 14th, the students, teachers and well wishers of the various primary schools lined the streets of the valley to witness the Inter School Road Race. Valley conquered the senior categories, as Ms. Delander Mussington blazed through the street and emerged victorious in the senior girls category. As if this was not enough, Geo Richardson emerged victorious in the senior boys category as he dominated his competitors as he streaked through the route to the finish line. Though exciting these events certainly set the tone for the big day which will be held on Wednesday March 19th, at the Ronald Webster Park. We certainly anticipate the Valley Primary School to shine on this day and bring the titles back to their rightful place.
